Staff Biographies

Rolf Jacobson

Rolf Jacobson, Research Fellow, LEED AP, jaco0630@umn.edu

Rolf is a Research Fellow at the Center for Sustainable Building Research in the College of Design at the University of Minnesota. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Mathematics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Minnesota (UMN). He is currently working towards a Masters of Science degree in Sustainable Design at the College of Design at UMN. Prior to his position as Research Fellow, Rolf worked at the CSBR as a Research Assistant for two years. Rolf has also worked for local architecture firms that specialize in sustainable design, and worked as a carpenter for area home builders. Past and current projects at the CSBR include the Minnesota Sustainable Housing Initiative web site and database, energy modeling, and thesis research on the costs and energy performance of residential building assemblies. Some of Rolf’s other interests include energy policy, land conservation, restoration ecology, and anything else that contains the word "sustainable."
