Building Design Process & Evaluation

UMN POE Hanson Hall

This project is to conduct a study of Herbert M. Hanson, Jr. Hall using the B3-Sustainable Post Occupancy Evaluation Survey (B3-SPOES). The poe will assess the performance of the the building in terms of intended human outcomes as required byt the B3-MSBG guidelines. The poe will also provide a feedback loop to determine how well the building is operating in relationship to the owner’s goals and intentions for occupants, and to provide recommendations for potential improvements.

This project is to conduct a study of the Winston and Maxine Wallin Medical Bioscience Building using the B3-Sustainable Post Occupancy Evaluation Survey (B3-SPOES). Green Rehabilitation of Elder Apartment Treatments: The GREAT Study is the nation’s first study to look at the health outcomes among older Americans following rehabilitation using green healthy housing methods.

Midwest Green Building Case Study Project

A Midwest Green Building Case Study Searchable Database designed to inform and spur more broad and effective investment in green buildings amongst the Midwest region’s real estate professionals, developers, building owners, managers, and tenants.

Minnesota Office Building POE

The purpose of this project is to provide constructive feedback to owner and design team on occupant experience of their green certified building that can be used for diagnostic screening, evaluation of progress toward desired occupant outcomes, and as a feedback loop for design criteria and strategies used. The project addresses the impact of a sustainable building design on occupant satisfaction, perceived affect on occupant work performance, and desired occupant behaviors related to commuting and recycling. Questions were also asked regarding a comparison to occupants’ prior facility and regarding collaboration.
