The U of MN was selected as one of 20 teams worldwide to compete in the
2009 Solar Decathlon. Research Fellows Jonee Kulman Brigham and Daniel
Handeen assisted in writing the initial proposal for entry into the
competition and served in advisory capacities to the student groups
that designed and built the U of MN's solar house. The team took 5th place in the competition. For results, visit the Solar Decathlon web site (www.solardecathlon.gov/past/2009). The project also was awarded a Top Projects of 2009 award from Finance and Commerce.
As the solar village was assembled for the US Department of Energy
Solar Decathlon, University of Minnesota's team had a bumpy start.
Coming from behind, this short tells the story of the student
construction management team's race against the clock.
